Updates from portugal. we have a national website

http://www.primaveraglobalpt.info/

and have begun to upload some content (much more will follow in the next days). Right now we have six cities registered for 12-15M
Braga: https://www.facebook.com/events/148024905327920/
Coimbra: https://www.facebook.com/events/220132834764631/
Évora: https://www.facebook.com/events/317721438298039/
Lisboa: https://www.facebook.com/events/278304118921316/
Porto: https://www.facebook.com/events/405753622792413/  (and their blog http://primaveranoporto.wordpress.com/)
Santarém: https://www.facebook.com/events/361011567273888/

The situation in Lisbon: there will be a demo on the 12 (of course) which will end in the park Eduardo VII, a big park in central lisbon. The site is optimal, there’s a lot of space and is also very pretty. Here there will be a permanent occupation every day from 8h to 24h with cultural events and debates, and a camp. Officially the camp will last from the 12 to the 15, but ultimately the assembly will decide when to end it. It will be an open space, where everybody can organize the kind of activity they want, the local organizers being no more than facilitators. Right now we have:
a small kitchen which will also work as a workshop where people will learn where to find local product (outside of the industrial distribution circuit) and how to recycle
debates/thematic assemblies on: debt, precarious work, unemployment, independent arts, immigration, social movements
workshops: internet, non violent direct actions, theater, yoga and meditation

more will appear and the website will be regularly updated. of course what is planned and what will really happen are completely different things :P

Manifesto of the Global Spring in Coimbra | May 12 for a Global Change
Nonpartisan, secular and pacific mobilization

On May 12, as happened in October 15, thousands of people will take the streets in hundreds of cities around the world. Coimbra joins the several movements of what is called “Indignados”, i.e. the Spanish 15M, the Occupy movement and several popular assemblies, as well as the Anonymous and many other groups, to make the “Global Spring” real. In this day, together, we will take the streets to demonstrate our outrage towards a system that calls itself democratic but systematically treats us as goods, as mere numbers, and that puts the economical interests above the common good.
We will take the streets to demand a sustainable development and respect for Nature; the sense of community; the right to mobility and free information; the respect for freedom and autonomy. We will take the streets for health, education, household and culture – we consider them essential and, therefore, of necessary universal access. In short, we demand the respect for dignity; we demand another world, a world of and for everyone, despite their nationality, ethnic group, gender, sexual orientation, age and social condition.
But more than taking the streets to demand this change, we will occupy the squares to build it. We will stay on the squares to create spaces of free debate, free sharing and free expression, truly democratic, and to collectively build alternatives and outline strategies of resistance to the policies that lead more than 99% of the population to the impoverishment while the remaining small minority gets richer and richer.

International Mobilization – May 12 Global Spring
We take the streets for Another World – And We Occupy the Squares to Build It

2pm: Concentration with painting of posters and banners
4pm: Demonstration in direction of Park Manuel Braga – performance and die-in in Largo da Portagem
At Park Manuel Braga: Open mic, music, poetry and other artistic interventions, communitarian dinner, concerts.
